Hi! :)
This blog post will be (again!) :D about some new applications, websites and useful tools for mathematics. As we know, time's going so fast and everything changes immediately! Even new technologies have very short time without an update so we need to adapt to these fast improvement as teachers. Here, I found nice tools to have more safe and efficient work. My two examples will be based on videos, one of them is for safety and the other is more about new learning styles.
1- SafeShare.tv
Youtube and other some websites have a huge effect on students. Besides them, there are also good videos for teachers to use in our instructions. Unfortunately, when we want a video to show, there may lots of distractions and unwanted contents around our video. SafeShare protect our link/video from unwanted contents while we show the video. You paste your link in the blank place on https://safeshare.tv/ and then take that new link to present. There is no difficulty for usage.
Also you can change start/end points of videos to select useful part for you.
2- EdPuzzle
This is another example for videos. As we know, new generation watches lots of videos and they love it. There is a new trend "flipped learning" which suggests that students prepare for classroom activities by online content and then do the activites to develop the learning process. After class, there is one more procedure to check their understanding.
Here EdPuzzle can create very good videos prepare students before class and check their learning afterwards. You can add questions and your voice into the video. Also you can see the statistics about how many times they watched different parts of the video, how long they wait to answer questions, how many of them answered correctly.. etc. This is a nice tool for flipped learning. On the other hand, you don't need to use flipped learning for EdPuzzle. You can use it for creating good homework or improved exercises.
